After the COVISHIELD trial, the person claimed – sick, the company gave compensation of 5 crores; SII defamation case of 100 crores

A 40-year-old man who underwent the ‘CovidShield’ vaccine during the trial in Chennai has sent a legal notice to the Serum Institute and others seeking compensation of Rs five crore, complaining of virtual neurological breakdown and poor thinking ability. It has also called for the vaccine to stop testing. The person also called for the cancellation of testing, manufacturing, and distribution of the test vaccine as unsafe and warned of legal action against it.

A legal notice has been sent to Pune-based Serum Institute of India (SII), which has tied up with Oxford University and pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca to manufacture the covidshield vaccine. Apart from SSI, notices have been sent to the Indian Council of Medical Research, the sponsor of the vaccine, and to the higher education and research institute that vaccinated the person. The person alleged that he had suffered acute encephalopathy, brain damage, or disease after being vaccinated and that all tests confirmed his health had been damaged by the vaccine test.

The company on Sunday dismissed the allegations of a person involved in the potential vaccine trial. The company also threatened to levy heavy fines for making false allegations. The Serum Institute of India said in a statement, “The allegations made in the notice are malicious and false. The Serum Institute of India is sympathetic to the medical condition of the person, but the vaccine test has nothing to do with his condition.

The company said that the person was wrongly blaming the vaccine for its health problems. The company said that it will defend itself from such allegations and claim defamation of up to Rs 100 crore for the wrong charge. Pune-based Serum Institute of India has teamed up with Oxford University and pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca to make the Kovid-19 vaccine covishield. The Serum Institute is also testing this vaccine in India.
