Apart from just brushing, follow this dental care routine


Brushing your teeth twice a day and visiting your dentist once a year doesn’t include in oral hygiene. For oral hygiene, you need to practice every single day to make your teeth remain strong and cavity-free for a long time.

Here are few effective, dentist-approved dental care tips to keep your teeth strong and healthy:

Floss regularly- it is not enough to clean every corner of your teeth no matter you brush your teeth twice a day. The bristles of a brush are not thin enough to make them clean properly so to truly clean your teeth you should floss them at least once in every two days.
Use a mouthwash- Mouthwash helps in dealing with bad breath and to kill germs that your toothpaste doesn’t. It’s not a replacement for brushing though. Using a mouthwash with fluoride protects your teeth and helps in maintaining oral hygiene. Using a mouthwash is quite underrated.

Avoid having a lot of lemons- You must have heard and seen a lot of DIY recipes which says rubbing a slice of lemon on your teeth will help in removing plaque and whitens your teeth. But it is not actually what it looks like, it is not at all healthy as lemons are highly acidic in nature so they weaken the nail enamel and damage your teeth.

Watch what you eat- A lot of food we have leave stains behind. This leads to discoloration of our teeth with time. Avoid having those foods which are rich in sugar or turmeric-infused foods, do not have a lot of tea or coffee. If you do then make sure to brush your teeth immediately so that the stains don’t get permanent.
