While it is important to clean our fridge from time to time to remove bacteria and germs, it is also important to defrost our freezer from time to time. Some freezers have the inbuilt capacity which doesn’t let any ice deposit inside but still many fridges don’t have this option so here are some tips to clean your freezer:

Planning- The most important thing before cleaning the freezer is planning, it is important so that we can keep milk, vegetables, and other food items store at another place because while defrosting, the water or ice can seep into your refrigerator and can spoil your food items so first clean or take the whole fridge and then clean it properly.

Turn off your fridge- If your fridge has defrosting mode and it is activated wait for 30 minutes before plugging off the electric connection. As for proper defrosting, detach your fridge from the power plug.

Don’t scratch- To remove the ice from the freezer, many people tend to scratch it with sharp objects like a knife but this should not be done as it can damage the surface of the freezer and can also cause scratches on the unit’s walls which damages the insulation unit.

Bowl of hot water- In order to create heat inside the freezer for defrosting, you can put a bowl of hot water in the freezer. This will melt your ice quickly and if the water is cold you can change this bowl of water with warm water again.
