Actress Preity Zinta took to her social media profile and dropped the poster and trailer for “The Illegal” starring Suraj Sharma in the lead role and extend her wishes as the film is eligible for the Best Picture Category at Oscars.
The film is helmed by Danish Renzu and stars Suraj Sharma, Iqbal Theba, Jay Ali, Hannah Masi, Danny Vasquez, Farshad Farahat, William Moses, Shweta Tripathi, Adil Hussain, and Neelima Azeem.

The film revolves around a student from India who leaves home to pursue the American Dream, but the unforeseen struggle of working to survive while inside a system set up for his failure challenges him to find inner strength, overcome obstacles, and never give up.

The narrative follows the journey of Hassan, an educated, middle-class student from India (Sharma), who comes to America in hopes of higher education and a dream, but with an unfortunate twist of fate, becomes an illegal blue-collar worker in the city of his dreams.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Zinta last appeared alongside Vir Das in an episode of the American sitcom Fresh Off the Boat, titled “The Magic Motor Inn”; she was set to reprise her role in a spin-off series, centered around her character’s family.
