After the successful launch of new Xcent compact sedan, Hyundai India is now gearing up to launch other models in the pipeline for the year 2017-18. The South Korean automaker commenced the year 2017 with the launch of new Grand 10 facelift in February followed by the launch of updated Xcent sedan. Now, the car maker is looking to launch the new generation 2017 Hyundai Verna which is known as Solaris in Russian market. With number of products in the pipeline, the car maker will be launching other models such as new Santro, Creta facelift & Eon facelift in the year 2017-18.
New Hyundai Verna 2017 – With the increasing competition in mid-sized sedan segment, Hyundai India is gearing up to launch the all-new Hyundai Verna 2017 in India. Expected to launch in August 2017, the new Verna sedan is one of the most anticipated cars of the year which was showcased Chengdu Motor Show in September 2016 in production version. The saloon is expected to sport cosmetic updates inside out with mechanical front remaining untouched. Hyundai India will be slotted against the likes of Maruti Ciaz and Honda City in order to claim its lost regime.
All New Hyundai Santro – Hyundai Santro 2018 is all set to make a comeback in the domestic market which was a great success for the Korean automaker previously. However, the carmaker discontinued its popular hatchback in 2014 that created a way for i10 hatchback. Now, the Korean carmaker is looking re-introduce the small car as a replacement for i10. Expected to hit Indian market next year, the small car will carry a revolutionary design along with new powerhouse options. To be pitted against the likes of Renault Kwid, Tata Tiago, Maruti Celerio and others, the new Hyundai Santro 2018 will ditch tall-boy design and rather will be seen with a crossover-ish and sporty design.
Hyundai Eon facelift – With the ever increasing competition in the small car segment, Hyundai India is looking to introduce the first facelift version of Eon in India soon. Expected to see subtle exterior and interior upgrades, the facelifted model will be intended for renewing the volumes as the new generation model will make way to the market in 2018. To be placed against the competition such as Maruti Alto, Renault and the likes, Hyundai Eon facelift car will carry aggressive pricing, sporty design, feature loaded cabin and unchanged mechanical front. It will be offered with the same set of engines 0.8-litre iRDE and 1.0-litre Kappa petrol engine.
Hyundai Tucson 4X4 – After the roll out of Hyundai Tucson 2X2 variant last year, the Korean automaker will be launching the all-wheel drive derivative of the SUV by May 2017. The 4X4 variant of third generation Tucson is expected to be offered with single engine option – 2.0-litre CRDi diesel. However, there is no official confirmation regarding the same from the company. The 4X4 version is expected to carry all-black interior design, panoramic sunroof and host of features which will make it an attractive deal.
Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid – Hyundai will be officially entering into the hybrid segment as the carmaker will be launching its first hybrid car in India next year. Currently offered in three versions – electric, plug-in hybrid and hybrid, Hyundai Ioniq hybrid sedan is likely to be manufactured locally. Hyundai is looking to keep prices pretty competitive as it will compete against the likes of Toyota Camry Hybrid and Honda Accord Hybrid. With the increasing popularity of hybrid cars, the carmaker believes that it can retail around 100 units of the sedan each month.
Hyundai Creta Facelift – Hyundai Creta SUV has been the best selling model from the house of South Korean automaker ever since its launch in the domestic market in the year 2015. After bagging Indian Car of the year award 2016, the Hyundai Creta has managed to achieve 1 lakh milestone which has been purely driven because of the SUV. As Creta is a crucial product for Hyundai, the company is looking to introduce a facelift model of the SUV in order to keep the rivalry intact. Hyundai India might showcase the facelifted Creta SUV at 2018 Auto Expo. Likely to sport same set of engines, new Hyundai Creta 2018 facelift could borrow stylings and updates from Brazil bound Creta facelift which was showcased at 2016 Sao Paulo Motor Show.
Hyundai Carlino SUV – With the increasing dominance of Maruti Vitara Brezza in the sub-compact space, Hyundai India is looking to launch the new Carlino SUV in India. Showcased at 2016 Auto Expo as a Carlino concept, the pre-production model of Carlino could make its way to 2018 Auto Expo. The SUV is expected to be offered with a choice of petrol and diesel engines – 1.0-litre T-GDi petrol and 1.4-litre U2 CRDi diesel engine. The petrol engine can produce 118bhp with peak torque of 171Nm and comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox while the diesel unit can churn out 89bhp of power against the peak torque of 220Nm and will be mated to a 6-speed manual and 4-speed automatic unit.
