Congress Veteran Ahmed Patel Dies at 71 After Battling Covid

Senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel died early Wednesday. Ahmed Patel got corona infected a month ago. Since then, his condition is continuously deteriorating. During this time, many of his organs stopped functioning. He died at 3.30 am on Wednesday. His son Faizal Patel reported the death of his father. Faizal wrote that I urge all auspicious thinkers to follow the rules of Kovid-19 and follow social distancing.

Earlier, Ahmed Patel was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram due to ill health. He was confirmed to be corona infected in the first week of October. Ahmed Patel himself had also informed about his corona positive by tweeting on 1 October. He wrote in the tweet that I have been found corona infected. I urge all those who have come in contact with me to isolate themselves.

Congress Working President Sonia Gandhi expressed grief over the demise of Ahmed Patel. Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi condoled the demise of Ahmed Patel. Rahul tweeted that it is a sad day. Ahmed Patel was a pillar of the Congress Party. He lived for the Congress and stood by the party in the most difficult times. He was a tremendous capital. we will remember them. My love and condolences to Faisal, Mumtaz and family.

PM Modi also expressed grief over the demise of Ahmed Patel. PM tweeted that I am saddened by the demise of Ahmed Patel. He spent years serving in society. A sharp-minded Ahmed Patel will always be remembered for strengthening the Congress Party.

In a tweet, senior party leader Digvijay Singh wrote that Ahmed Patel ceased. An integral friend went the reliable companion. We have been together for 77 years. He reached the Lok Sabha and me in the Vidhan Sabha. For all us Congressmen, he was the medicine of every political merge.

Soft-spoken, tactful and always smiling was his identity. Several leaders including Congress leaders Priyanka Gandhi, Randeep Surjewala, Abhishek Manu Singhvi have mourned the demise of Ahmed Patel.
