Former Pakistan President and Army Chief Pervez Musharraf has been sentenced to death by a special court in Pakistan for treason and High Trison case. A three-judge bench ruled in 2: 1. Detail copy of this decision will be released after 48 hours.
Former Pakistani President and Army Chief Pervez Musharraf, currently living in Dubai, is accused of taking the country towards emergency on 3 November 2007. This case was going on since 2013. Meanwhile, Musharraf left Pakistan in 2016. Justice Seth, Justice Nazar Akbar and Justice Shahid Karim pronounced the verdict on former President of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf.
The sedition case against Pervez Musharraf was started by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the matter was pending since 2013. The special court ordered Musharraf to record the statement by 5 December. Musharraf challenged the decision of the special court and demanded suspension of his case in his absence. He asked the Lahore High Court to suspend the reserved judgment of the special court until it was healthy enough to appear in court.
Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz said that a conspiracy had started against his father, as he soon decided to prosecute Pervez Musharraf for high treason. Nawaz Sharif is undergoing treatment in London after being granted bail on medical grounds in a corruption case in which he was imprisoned for seven years.
