The Manohar Lal Khattar government of Haryana is preparing to implement a new sports policy in the state. After its implementation, despite winning the medal at the international level, the same players will be able to directly become DSP (Deputy Superintendent of Police) in the Police Department, who meet the standards of educational qualification along with medals. This information has been given by Haryana Minister of State for Sports Sandeep Singh in a report by Amar Ujala.
According to the report, Sandeep Singh says that after the implementation of the new sports policy, every player will not be able to claim the post of DSP if he wins the medal. Along with winning an international level medal, it is also necessary to have an educational qualification for a DSP post. However, Sandeep Singh clarified that the recruitment of DSP is not being banned directly from the sports quota, but now there will be stringent norms beforehand. The government is going to make important amendments to the sports policy. The amendment is still in the primary stage. There has been a discussion with Chief Minister Manohar Lal about amending the sports policy. They have given it the green signal. The rounds of meetings will begin regarding which amendments will be made in the policy. The change in sports policy will be done as per the decision taken with consensus in the meetings.
Sandeep Singh claimed that the government will make the sports policy more friendly to the players. He said that players will get the post of DSP directly from the sports quota. This rank will continue with the players, but their main job will be to play and promote the games. The government’s primary priority is to keep and feed sportspersons who are in government jobs through sports quota.
Sandeep Singh said that recruitment will be done in the departments where the sports quota is being recruited. Efforts are on to get jobs through sports quota even in the departments which are not happening. On the basis of medal and merit, players will also be employed in equivalent positions of DSP. Sandeep Singh said, my effort is to get more and more jobs to the sports department so that they can be helped in creating new players as well as promoting sports.
Sandeep Singh said that the job professional players still have as much passion for the game as it was before getting the job. He gets calls from many players. Players also come to meet. Players say that they want to stay connected with the game, even if they keep it all day in the playground. Sandeep Singh said that such career players will be promoted in the game. A new plant of players will be developed by taking advantage of their experience, not by tricking them into paperwork and their talent will be destroyed.
