Talking about India’s car market, Maruti Suzuki continues to be on top and occupies about 50 percent of the market. Even after this, companies like Hyundai and Renault have also steadily gained their place in the last few years. The top 10 best-selling cars in 2019 were Maruti Suzuki, while three cars were Hyundai. Although the French company Renault is not included in this race, it has rapidly made its presence in the market.

Renault, which entered the Indian market in 2005 just 15 years ago, has established its identity due to its cars like Duster, Kwid, Triber. Talking about the Indian market share, Renault’s market share was 2.67% in the first half of 2019, which was 2.33% in the same period of 2018. Not only this, companies like Motors, Nissan, Skoda are far behind.

According to auto sector experts, Renault has made its place in India due to affordable cars. This is the strategy on which Maruti Suzuki has always worked. Affordable cars have always been preferred in India’s lower middle class and middle class in terms of maintenance. An example is a car like the company’s Renault KWID.

This vehicle has become the choice of Indian customers, who like Maruti Alto’s entry-level cars Alto and WagonR less. Apart from this, Renault has also made its presence in the Indian market through the compact SUV Duster. The company currently operates in 128 countries. The 115-year-old company employs over 1,20,000 people worldwide.
