IND vs ENG: Virat demolishes Dhoni’s big record, became the first Indian captain to do so

India dominated the first day of the day-night test match in Ahmedabad. Till stumps, India scored 99 runs losing 3 wickets. India’s final wicket fell as captain Virat Kohli, who was bowled by Jack Leach for 27 runs. Virat Kohli also shattered former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s big record during this innings.

Prior to Virat Kohli, Dhoni did this against Australia and Sri Lanka. Former Kangaroo captain Ricky Ponting is the only captain in the world who has scored two thousand or more runs against four countries. Ponting did this against England, India, South Africa and New Zealand.

It is worth noting that for a long time Virat Kohli has been waiting for the cricket fans to score a century with the bat, but his bat remained silent during the first innings of this Test against England.
