IND vs ENG: Will there be a change in the opening department after the loss in the first Test? Team India has this option

India had to face defeat in the first Test match against England. The second Test will be played from 13 February where the Indian team will have to change the strategy. There could be a change in India’s playing eleven after the loss in the first Test. But the biggest question is whether there can be a change in the opening department of India.

Actually, Shubman Gill is doing well as an opener but Rohit Sharma is not looking in rhythm. Therefore, it is believed that another batsman can be given an opening in place of Rohit Sharma. Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul are the two batsmen in the current Indian team who can be seen opening with Shubman Gill replacing Rohit Sharma.

Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul are both batsmen who have opened for Team India. However, Mayank Agarwal did not open as an opener on the tour of Australia recently and hence KL Rahul’s claim to the playing eleven before him is strong.

KL Rahul has returned to the Indian Test team after a long time and in such a situation, if he gets a chance now, he can be seen proving himself. However, it remains to be seen what strategy Virat Kohli adopts under the second Test, whether or not he makes any changes under the Opening Department. Team India would like to return to the series from the second Test.
