Kamala Harris: The first Indian, black and African American VP to be an example at every stage

Indian-born Kamala Devi Harris has created history by becoming the elected Vice President of the United States. She is the first woman in the US to be elected to this position. Not only this, Harris will be the first Indian, Black and African American Vice President. In August, Biden, who was a Democratic Party candidate for the presidential election, chose Harris as the vice-presidential candidate. Harris had abandoned her presidential dream citing a lack of financial resources for campaigning.

Harris was at one time a bitter critic of her former rival Biden. Harris, 56, is one of three Asian American members of the Senate. Harris has set many examples. She is the first woman, first Indian, and first African American to become District Attorney of San Francisco. She was popularly known as ‘Female Obama’ during Obama’s tenure.
