News was viral that stand-up comedian and actor Kevin Hart and Netflix has closed a megabucks deal under his home banner HartBeat Productions. The exclusive partnership calls for Hart to be the star of at least four films he’ll produce and perhaps star as well.
It’s a major commitment for the star and the streamer. Last time Netflix made a film commitment this big with a comic star was the one it renewed with Adam Sandler that was said to be in the 150 million vicinity.

Kevin Hart confirmed the news on his social media profile. He shared, “Excited about this new chapter for myself & my company. I am beyond blessed and thankful for my team at HartBeat Productions….I truly believe in our ability to make global films that will make a lasting impact in cinema history for years to come. We are just getting started people #HartBeatProductions …..It’s all about the “We” not the “Me”

Hart is slated to star in and executive produce the recently announced Netflix scripted limited series True Story, produced by HartBeat Productions and Eric Newman (Narcos and Narcos: Mexico), marking Hart’s dramatic series debut.

Hart’s latest stand-up special Zero F*cks Given was the No. 1 Netflix comedy special of 2020; more than 21 million accounts chose to watch in the first four weeks after it premiered. Hart was also featured in the 2019 biographical docuseries Kevin Hart: Don’t F*ck This Up.
