Lion ready to roar ”: Deepak Chahar’s sister Malti reacts after her brother recovers from COVID-19

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fast bowler Deepak Chahar has joined the rest of the team in a bio-safe bubble after recovering from the Coronovirus before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. Undeniably, Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad were two players who contracted the deadly virus a few weeks ago. “Deepak Chahar has tested negative twice and is back in the team bubble,” said Chennai Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kashi Vishwanathan.

Gaikwad is expected to return to training camp by 12 September. “Except the Indian batsman [Gaekwad], who are all in quarantine, all others have come out,” he said. Vishwanathan said that the Indian fast bowler twice tested negative and came back. However, Chahar must pass a fitness and cardio test before resuming his training.

Malati, Deepak’s sister, had ended with the latter’s withdrawal as she took to Twitter to share her excitement. “The lion is ready to roar,” she wrote.  Soon after recovering, Chahar is back in mode. He was seen on Twitter showing off his bruised belly. Chahar’s return is certainly great news for the team who have been facing a treacherous time since their arrival in the UAE.

CSK previously lost two of their stalwarts in the form of Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh. Both opted to miss the tournament due to some personal issues. The MS Dhoni-led team will play the tournament open in Abu Dhabi on 19 September against Mumbai Indians (MI).
