Mercedes- Benz on Wednesday launched two SUVs — Mercedes-AMG G63 Edition 463 at Rs 2.17 crore and Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 priced at Rs 1.58 crore. Mercedes-Benz India managing director and CEO Roland Folger on Wednesday said, “With today’s launch we further strengthen our AMG portfolio in India and are confident of leading the performance segment with fascinating product interventions”.
Mercedes-AMG G63, the iconic SUV is one of the most sought cars since 1979. The ‘Edition 463’ was first introduced globally in 2015, 463 stands for the Mercedes-AMG G63’s internal model code. Power output from this monstrous truck—- 5.5-litre V8 engine stands at 563 bhp at 5500 rpm and 760 Nm of peak torque at 5000 rpm. G63 propels from 0-100 kmph in 5.4 seconds, while the top speed is electronically limited to 210 kmph.
Talking about Mercedes-AMG GLS 63, this SUV is a super performance version of the standard issue Mercedes-Benz GLS. Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 has got complete AMG body styling with the trademark quad exhausts, LED Intelligent Light System with integrated LED DRLs and red painted brake callipers. The icing on the cake is its panoramic sunroof, ORVM logo projectors, and an Easy Pack tailgate which can be electrically opened or closed.
