Philosophy and Pandemic: Why do we need Philosophy in these testing times?

While no one had never imagined that an unstoppable world like ours would actually witness something like this – a major halt! It happened and further proved that we were not prepared for the worst!

In a running world, we tend to think that making depositions as life insurance policies and various other savings help us prepare for the worst and that everything else must get sorted accordingly!  Well, now you know, they don’t – not entirely. The greatest life insurance policy is to know that life cannot be insured, it is all about the ‘chance’.

Actually, that is what happens when you run too fast in life.

Overlooking all the other *larger* things that rather should have been taken into account. We all know of this expression – ‘Itihaas Gawah Hai’ meaning ‘History is a witness’ – A witness to the fact that whenever such testing times have dawned upon a full functioning,*un-questioning* human world, Philosophers have taken birth – for all the right reasons.

Yet for now, the Pandemic hasn’t changed all of us. We are only a few months into the Pandemic but ‘Itihaas Gawah Hai’ that it will change us. It has had major physiological and psychological impacts on humanity at large. Noticeably, we can already find shifts in our everyday thinking patterns. It has gotten us way more anxious than we already were. Most of us just want the world to be ‘how it used to be’ just a few months back and are praying for a total comeback! But then if we think practically, why do such ‘testing times’ come in the first place? If the world was supposed to run the way it was already running – why would a fully potential *lethal* Coronavirus be slid into this ongoing *healthy* structure? What do you think of it?

Well, it’s time for us to think more deeply and reflect. We all have a philosopher within us, who knows answers that no book in no library can ever provide. Seek within, you’ll find. You’ll know. All that is there – is within us.
