‘Pollution an important factor’: Kejriwal to PM Modi on rise in Covid cases

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal told Prime Minister Narendra Modi that on November 10, the highest number of 8600 new cases of Kovid-19 were reported in the city and since then cases have been decreasing rapidly. This information was given by the news agency PTI-Bhasha on Tuesday, quoting sources. During the meeting, Shah also alerted the states. The PM reviewed the current status of Kovid-19 with CM in this meeting.

If sources are to be believed, the CM of Delhi told PM Modi that the third wave of Kovid had such an effect due to many reasons, most of which is responsible for pollution. It was told that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene so that the pollution caused by the stubble burning in the neighboring states could be eradicated.

According to sources, in a meeting with the Prime Minister, Kejriwal requested that an additional one thousand ICU beds be reserved for patients with coronavirus in Delhi-based central government-run hospitals till the third wave of infection continues to wreak havoc.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra was told that CM Uddhav Thackeray has informed the PM that he is in touch with Adar Poonawala of the Continental Serum Institute. The state has also set up a task force, which will ensure the program related to the delivery and deployment of the vaccine in time.

Apart from Modi and Shah, the meeting was attended by Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan with Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Badhel and Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. By the way, PM has held meetings with states several times so far to review the corona.

Let us tell you that cases of corona infection have been coming down to 50,000 in the last few days across the country, while in some states the cases have increased rapidly. Night curfew has also been imposed in some cities. Apart from the meeting, efforts are being made continuously by the Center that whenever the vaccine of Corona is available, it can be arranged for its smooth distribution. Currently, five vaccines in India are moving towards preparation. Four of these are in the second or third phase of testing while one is in the first or second stage.

First 1 crore health workers will get the vaccine: Whenever the vaccine of Kovid-19 is available in India, it will be first put to one crore health workers, for which 92 percent government hospitals and 55 percent private hospitals across the country are providing data. Official sources said work is underway on five vaccines in India, of which four I / III and one I / II phase trials are underway.

States have been asked to expedite the process of identifying leading health workers including doctors, MBBS students, nurses and ASHA workers, etc. so that this process can be completed in a week. Earlier, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan had said that the Covid-19 vaccine is likely to come out by the first quarter of 2021.
