Earlier in January, HDFC Bank handed over a detailed action plan to RBI to address the frequent service interruption issues caused by the outage and said it would improve its technology platform in three months.

Earlier, in December 2020, due to a technical breakdown, the HDFC Bank’s internet banking services, mobile banking and utility payment services were interrupted by the RBI ban on new launches and new credit cards. The RBI took this step due to digital outages many times in the last 2 years.
