Ruckus over selection of Sarfaraz Ahmed, PCB seeks report

There has been a ruckus about the selection of former Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed and the Pakistan Cricket Board has sought a detailed report from the team management in this matter. In fact, Pakistan’s team was recently on a tour of England, where they played a series of three Tests and so many T20 matches.

In the Test series led by Azhar Ali, Sarfraz Ahmed was preferred over wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan. At the same time, in the Babar Azam-led team during the T20 series, Sarfraz Ahmed has been given only the chance of the last match, but after this series, it has been reported that Sarfraz Ahmed refused to play in the last T20 match.

But after this, he was ready to play after persuading head coach Misbah-ul-Haq, batting coach Younis Khan and captain Babar Azam. Pakistan cricket management wanted to hide this whole matter but now the matter has reached the PCB and it has also sought a report from team management in this matter.

It is worth noting that the head coach of the team said that the reason behind the absence of the last T20 match was played by Sarfaraz Ahmed, any player would have worried when he got a chance in the last match on the tour and Sarfraz Ahmed had the same concern. Misbah further said Sarfaraz was under pressure that if things do not happen in his favor, he could get in trouble and hence he refused to play. Significantly, it was Sarfaraz Ahmed who gave his captaincy Champions Trophy 2017 title to Pakistan.
