Tesla Launches Fast Electric Car Charging in Berlin

Managers of electric car manufacturer Tesla Inc. have demonstrated the new supercharger at the Berlin Research Complex on Thursday. The company is aiming to reach more and more cities to attract buyers concerned for charging. The supercharging network is being expanded in city centers as part of a commitment to make it easy and convenient to own all Tesla’s without the use of charge at home or workplace.

Company reporters have been told that Tesla will open at least one inner-city fast-charging site in Germany in 2020. Tesla still believed in the slow workplace and residential charging as the main way to charge vehicles but the company wants to offer a faster option.

The V3 charger has the ability to charge Tesla Model 3 cars for a journey of 120 kilometers (75 mi) within five minutes. Where the old Tesla model is also going to get the software upgrade. German policymakers are aiming to cut emissions as well as boost demand for electric cars.

German economic minister Peter Altmaier said at the event, “We have seen a lot of results in terms of charging infrastructure. Permits for speeding public charging roll-outs and private charging are being replicated, which created a substantial hurdle in sales. The company’s goal has been to provide incentives to the latest buyers since the Coronavirus.
