The BJP is continuously in power in the elections of one state after another in the country. In the latest elections held in Bihar, the party formed the government once again with JDU. This time the BJP’s thrust in the cabinet and most ministers became his choice. The surprising thing is that for the first time in the last several decades, not a single Muslim minister was included in the Bihar government. However, this lack of Muslims as representatives in the government is not limited to Bihar alone. The situation in other states is also worrying.

AIMIM chief and MP from Hyderabad Asaduddin Owaisi has also raised the issue. Owaisi shared the news of The Indian Express newspaper’s Muslim representation on Thursday, writing, “80 percent of the country’s Muslims live in 10 states.” There are 4 of them, where there is not a single Muslim minister. These are all BJP-ruled states. In these 10 states, Muslim ministers are reduced to half as compared to before 2014. That means 14 percent of India has only 3.93 percent of ministers in the states. ”

What do the figures say after 2014?: In the 10 states where 80 percent of the country’s population lives, the total number of ministers is 281. But the number of Muslim ministers in them is only 16. This community accounts for only 5.7 percent of the council of ministers, which is less than one-third of the Muslim population in the states.

Four of these 10 states – Assam, Karnataka, Gujarat and Bihar are states where the BJP is in power and there is not a single Muslim minister. At the same time, Uttar Pradesh is the only BJP-ruled state, where Mohsin Raza is the minister of minority welfare and is the only Muslim minister. Before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, let me tell you that Gujarat was the only state where there was no Muslim minister. Before 2014, there were 34 Muslims in these states.
