Salads are easy and tasty to way have nutrients in your diet. They are so quick to make. You can surprise your guests on a get-together or a family dinner, by putting a little extra effort into your salads.

Here are a few tips to make the best salad:

Pick your base- Instead of using iceberg or cos lettuce try to use dark greens as a base like spinach, rocket, watercress or kale. They can maximize your nutrients intakes like vitamins A, C and K, etc. By adding these to your salad you’ll get all your daily nutrients.

Pick your protein-If you have enough protein in your salad then it will keep you fuller for a long time. Adding proteins such as grilled chicken or boiled chicken or for vegetarians beans or tofu can be really beneficial. Just try to avoid deep fried options they will only give you large amount of fats and salts to your salad.

Eat your salads regularly and you can use different herbs and spices every time in your protein-rich salads.

Choose your grains- Grains are the source of carbohydrates and by adding grains in your salads can give you a little boost to your energy. We don’t want that eating a delicious fresh salad and then after some time feeling like snacking.

Adding grains like quinoa will provide you with fibre which can be fulling and also will give nutrients to your body. Grains also add an earthy flavor that will balance the tangy dressing.

Add three vegetables- You can add cooked or raw vegetables as per your choice. Tomato, onion, mushrooms, carrots, cucumber, and capsicum can be a great option.

Add some healthy fats- You always need some healthy fats like walnuts, chia seeds or flax seeds.

Add your dressing- Instead of using store-bought dressings, always use fresh homemade dressings. Also use dressings that will compliment your vegetables.
