Amole Gupte’s Saina, is an emotional tale of ace badminton champion Saina Nehwal, starring Parineeti Chopra in the titular role. The film offers tonne of inspiration, motivation and emotion.

Filmmaker Amole Gupte is known for making nuanced cinema, with high dose of subtle emotion, with Saina the director has done full justice. The director has chronicled probably every minute details of the player.

Screenplay and background music is very gripping and keep you on the edge of your seat.
If I talk about the performances, Meghna Malik as Saina’s mother and Manav Kaul as Saina’s coach had given commendable performances. Manav looks convincing in his character and in each frame he delivers magic through his acting.

Meghna Malik who is known for her stunning performances in various television shows had given wonderful performance in movie. There is one scene in kitchen where she is scolding Saina that is sublime and natural.

Parineeti Chopra’s efforts are visible on screen and her dialogues, one-liners and voice over give strength to the movie. Music of the movie goes with the screenplay and looks impressive. If you’re looking for a good weekend watch, go for this movie. This movie will tell you how champions are made.
