British Actor Helen McCrory Passed Away

British actor Helen McCrory, known for playing the role of Polly Gray in Peaky Blinders, has passed away. She was 52 when she breathed her last.

The actress, known for playing Draco Malfoy’s mother in the Harry Potter films and more recently the character of Polly Gray in the British drama series Peaky Blinders, lost her battle with cancer at the age of 52.

McCrory’s husband, actor Damien Lewis, shared the news on his Twitter handle and wrote, “I’m heartbroken to announce that after a heroic battle with cancer, the beautiful and mighty woman that is Helen McCrory has died peacefully at home, surrounded by a wave of love from friends and family.”

McCrory’s additional credits include Penny Dreadful and His Dark Materials, among numerous television appearances in a performance career that spanned over thirty years.
McCrory and Damian Lewis; couple had a daughter named Manon and a son named Gulliver.

She served as an honorary patron of the London children’s charity Scene and Heard. She was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2017 New Year Honours for services to drama.
