Covid-19: 50% beds in this state reserved for covid-19 patients amidst increasing cases

Covid-19 Update: Amidst growing coronavirus cases, all districts of Jharkhand have been ordered to reserve at least 50 percent beds in hospitals for covid-19 patients. According to an official release, Jharkhand Health Secretary KK Soan has directed deputy commissioners to hold meetings with private hospitals in their respective districts and prepare a detailed action plan.

State Health Minister Banna Gupta held an emergency meeting with the Health Secretary regarding the covid-19 situation, after which this decision has been taken. The Health Secretary has also directed all private hospitals to ensure priority of treatment of covid-19 patients. This instruction has come in the wake of the increasing number of corona virus infections due to the lack of beds in government and private hospitals in the state.

The number of state coronavirus cases has increased to 1,39,384 on Monday. In view of the increase in cases, the Jharkhand government has tightened its covid-19 restrictions. In an official order, the state government said that all shops, restaurants, clubs will be closed after 8 pm. However, take-home/home delivery will be allowed. It states that no more than five persons will congregate in public places.

All schools will be closed according to the country and studies will be provided through online or digital content. However, offline classes for class 10 and class 12 which are giving board exams in the year 2021 are allowed. These offline classes will not be compulsory and students will be present only with the prior consent of their parents.

In Maharashtra, 51,751 new # COVID19 cases, 52,312 recoveries and 258 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours. In Delhi, 11,491 new Kovid cases and 72 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases has been 38095. The total number of positive cases in India was 1,35,27,717 after COVID19 saw 1,68,912 new cases on Monday. Whereas after 904 new deaths, the total number of deaths had increased to 1,70,179.
