We all remember actor Puneet Issar as Duryodhana in BR Chopra’s Mahabharata and this character of him is still fondly talked about. He will now be seen in an all-new avatar in a short film ‘Sanghaar The Massacre’ directed and written by his son Siddhant Issar. The film will release on 16 April 2021 on their YouTube channel ‘Showman Theatre Production’.
Talking about the film, he said, “Last year, an incident happened where Sadhus were lynched and nobody spoke about it. That is the reason we have made this film, to present the truth to the audience. Our film ‘Sanghaar The Massacre’ condemns the lynching of Sadhus and slaughtering of cows. In Sanatan Dharma, cows are worshipped as mothers but there are some people who for their personal gain slaughter the cows. This film will present the values of Sanatan Dharma to the audience.”

Talking about the response the teaser of the film is getting, he said, “We are getting a very good response for the teaser. People are commenting that finally, someone is talking about the issue that happened last year on 16th April. Our film ‘Sanghaar The Massacre’ is releasing on 16th April, exactly one year after the Sadhu Lynching incident in Palghar.”

Talking about the incident of Sadhu lynching he said, “In our country, even if a small issue happens people go on candle march. Big celebrities write on their social media handle condemning the issue but when sadhu lynching happened last year, everyone chose to keep quiet. When my son Siddhant came up with an idea to make a film on this incident, I was very happy and I said we must make this film.”

Nepotism is much talked about in the industry currently. Sharing his views on that, he said, “I believe if you do not have talent, then you cannot be successful. Obviously, I would guide my son but he has to walk his own journey and fight his own struggle.”
The film ‘Sanghaar The Massacre’ is releasing on 16 April 2021 on the Showman Theatre Production YouTube channel page.
