Red Is A Romantic Thriller, Inspired From 70’s Era Says Payal Ghosh

Actress Payal Ghosh made headlines last year in September when she came out in public and accused Director Anurag Kashyap of sexual harassment. The actress is now all ready for her next film ‘Red’ which is a romantic thriller. She spoke to News Helpline about the film, the ongoing pandemic situation and much more.

Talking about the film, she said, “It is a romantic thriller which is very different from today’s films. It is inspired by the 70’s era but also has a modern touch to it. The songs of the film are very nice. It will be a different experience for the audience to watch the film.”

She further added, “The audience will get the flavor of the golden era of Bollywood in this film. That was the era when we used to have good stories and good songs. Today we are all dependent on so many things. We copy films from the south and even recreate the songs. Nothing is original. But this film will give an entertainment in its original form”

The team had to start the shoot on 17 April but owing to the current situation, it has been pushed. Talking about it, she said, “We had to start shooting from 17th April in Bhopal but now we have postponed the shoot to May.”

How is she looking after her workout regime during the lockdown, sharing about it, she said, “I will be portraying different shades in the film. I will be playing the role of a college-going student, a housewife and the third one is a surprise for the fans. We have to shoot the college part now so I have to look like a college going girl. For that, I am on a strict diet and I am working on myself to portray that part well.”

OTT platform is taking over the silver screen because of Corona, sharing her views on that, she said, “A feature film can be enjoyed best on the big screen. The audience can not enjoy a feature film as much on OTT Platform as on the silver screen.”

The film Red is scheduled to release in theatres in October this year. However, if the current situation prevails, the team will have to release it on the OTT platform. Sharing her displeasure on this, she said, “It will be a compromise from our end to release it on the OTT platform. However, if the film is completed it has to be released. So we will have to release it on the OTT platform.”
