Superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson shares a condolence message for Rapper DMX, who passed away due to cardiac arrest.

Rapper DMX, who rose to fame in the late 1990s with his first studio album “It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot,” has died at the age of 50 after being on life support for a week following a heart attack.

The rapper, born Earl Simmons, who had been battling drug addiction, was hospitalized in New York last week with a heart attack following a reported overdose. Upon admission, his condition was so critical that he was resuscitated and placed on life support.

Wrestler turned actor ‘The Rock took to his social media and wrote, “Man I hated seeing the confirmation today on DMX. All week I was hoping he’d pull-thru. Sending love, light, strength and mana to his family. What a voice, cadence and power. Rest easy king. You “gave it to ‘em” #dmx”

The American Music Award winner and three-time Grammy Award nominee was a prominent figure in the hip-hop and pop music industry in the late 1990s and early 2000s. His first five albums hit the top of the Billboard album chart.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Dwayne will next be seen in Jungle Cruise, Red Notice and Black Adam.

Red Notice is written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber. It also stars Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds. Originally going to be released by Universal Pictures, Netflix acquired the distribution rights on July 8, 2019, with the film set to be released on the platform in 2021.
