The seven branches of China’s ruling Communist Party of China (CPC) have ties with India. Leaked data has revealed that the CPC has about 79000 different branches. 19.5 lakh people work as members of CPC. It is also learned that CPC members are working in multinational companies. It also includes banking, defense, pharmaceutical and financial sectors. These companies also include ANZ, HSBC, Pfizer, Astrazeneca, Volksvagen and Boeing.

Leaked data has revealed that at least seven CPC branches have direct connections with India and have about 91 members working in them. One of the foreign people hired by the Consulate General of India in Shanghai is also a member of CPC. The report has not disclosed that member’s name, gender and birthday due to her right to privacy. It is learned that he was a member of the CPC working at the Indian Embassy in Shanghai for three years.

Information about 19.5 lakh CPC members has been received after the data leak. CPC members have been recruited as experts, clerks, executive assistants, economic advisors in at least 10 consulates in Shanghai.
