The Rajasthan government has extended its weekend curfew for two weeks on Sunday. Since the epidemic first started in Rajasthan, new cases have crossed the 10,000 marks every day. The decision has been taken after several rounds of covid review meetings chaired by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot over the weekend. In Rajasthan, the lockdown has been announced from 19 April to 03 May. However, people have been provided some necessary discounts during this period. The state government has named it ‘Public Discipline Fortnight’.

It has been said in the order that all government offices except the essential services will be kept closed. Malls, markets will remain closed while home delivery is exempted. Construction work has been continued to prevent the exodus of laborers. During this period, relief has also been given to industries. In a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Sunday evening, it was agreed to put a lockdown in Rajasthan.

Who can oprate

State Personnel – District Administration, Control Room, Monday Civil Defense, Home, Finance, Police, Jail, Home Guards, Firefighters, Emergency Services, Public Transport, Disaster Management, Food and Supplies Department, Municipal Corporation, Electricity, Drinking Water, Sanitation, Telephone, Health and family welfare and medical-related services are exempted.

The offices and institutes associated with essential services related to the central government will remain open. Employees will be allowed an identity card. All government and private offices will remain closed. People coming from the bus stand, railway station, metro station, the airport will be allowed to show travel tickets. RT PCR report has been made mandatory for travelers coming to Rajasthan within 72 hours.

The government has given permission to pregnant women and patients to go to the doctor for consultation. Employees of private hospitals will be allowed to show identity cards. Groceries, mandis, fruits and vegetables, dairy and milk, animal feed shops will remain open till 5:00 pm. Ration shops will remain open without any holiday.

Those above 45 years of age will be able to register for vaccination. Also, they can go for vaccination, for this, they have to show their ID card. The employees of the media have been allowed to come with the Identity Card. ATMs and insurance offices will be operational for banking services.

After 2,73,810 new cases of COVID19 in India in the last 24 hours, the total number of positive cases increased to 1,50,61,919. After 1,619 new deaths, the total number of deaths has increased to 1,78,769. The total number of active cases in the country is 19,29,329 and the total number of discharged cases is 1,29,53,821.
