UP Panchayat Chunav 2021: In the first phase of panchayat elections in Uttar Pradesh, votes are being cast in 18 districts of the state today. Polling has started at 7 am and there is a huge crowd of voters at polling stations. Voters will be able to cast their votes by 6 pm. By 6 pm, all those who will be in line to vote will get a chance to cast their vote. Voters are casting their votes for the posts of Zilla Panchayat member, Kshetra Panchayat member, Gram Pradhan and Gram Panchayat ward member in the elections for the panchayat election.

There are more than 3.33 lakh candidates for more than 2.21 lakh posts of Zilla Panchayat member, Kshetra Panchayat member, Gram Pradhan and Gram Panchayat ward member. On Thursday, the first phase of voting is going on in Ayodhya, Agra, Kanpur, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Jaunpur, Jhansi, Prayagraj, Bareilly, Bhadohi, Mahoba, Rampur, Rae Bareli, Shravasti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Saharanpur, Hardoi and Hathras districts. In the first phase of polling, votes are being cast in Saharanpur district for 884 posts of the village head, 1207 of BDC and 49 posts of district panchayat member.

Voting is taking place amidst stringent security arrangements

Tight arrangements have been made by the Election Commission and the government for the first phase of elections. For this, a total of 629 inspectors, 7,946 sub-inspectors, 15,672 head constables, 61,875 constables, 2,710 PRD jawans, 6,729 recruited soldiers, 51 company 2 platoons PAC, 10 company CRPF have been deployed for all 18 districts.

The fate of more than 3.33 lakh candidates is being decided

In the first phase of polling for the UP Panchayat elections, the fate of more than three lakh 33 thousand candidates will be decided. In the first phase, 11,442 candidates for 779 posts of Zilla Panchayat member, 81,747 candidates for 19,313 posts of Kshetra Panchayat member, 1,14,142 candidates for 14,789 posts of Gram Pradhan and 1 for 1,86,583 posts of Gram Panchayat ward members. 26,613 candidates are in the fray.

Voting for UP Panchayat elections will be held in four phases

Polling will be held in four phases for the ongoing panchayat elections in UP. The first phase is on today i.e. April 15, for which votes are being cast in 18 districts. At the same time, the voting of the second phase will be held on April 19, while the voting of the third phase is to be held on April 26. At the same time, the fourth and last round of voting will be held on April 29. After that, the votes of each district will be counted on 2 May.

Votes to be cast here in the second phase of panchayat elections

In the second phase of the ongoing panchayat elections in UP, votes will be cast in 20 districts. The second phase will be held on April 19. There will be voting in Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Gautam Budh Nagar, Bijnor, Amroha, Badaun, Etah, Mainpuri, Kannauj, Etawah, Lalitpur, Chitrakoot, Pratapgarh, Lucknow, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sultanpur, Gonda, Maharajganj, Varanasi and Azamgarh districts.
