WhatsApp announced on 5 January that it would implement its new privacy policy on 8 February, following which many rumors surrounded WhatsApp. After this, people fiercely opposed WhatsApp. Many people even went as far as to plan to use other apps like Signal and Telegram and many WhatsApp users decided to close their account too.

Due to the increasing popularity of other apps, WhatsApp has announced to extend the date of implementation of its new privacy policy by three months. After this, the policy will come into force in May. WhatsApp said that we want users to have a lot of time to understand and test the conditions. He also said that we did not plan to delete the accounts of any users, nor will we do so in the future.

Mobile number can be seen in Google search

A new case of WhatsApp data leak has surfaced. A report has cited that WhatsApp’s web application has leaked the users’ mobile numbers, which have started appearing in Google search. This claim has been made by cybersecurity researcher Rajasekhar Rajharia and some screenshots related to it have been shared on social media. He has shared two screenshots of Google search, in which users’ mobile numbers are clearly visible. He wrote that WhatsApp is not able to monitor its desktop or web version on Google.
