When a US company expelled an Indian employee, he removed 1200 Microsoft users account

An Indian citizen has been sentenced by a US court in California to two years in jail after he was alleged to have deleted the Microsoft Users’ Account of over 1,200 people after being fired from the company. According to a report, Dipanshu Kher was arrested when he returned to India from India on 11 January 2021 and was unaware of his arrest warrant.

Attorney Randy Grossman said, “The act of causing harm was extremely damaging to the company.” US District Court Judge Marilyn Huff ruled that Kher deliberately attacked the company and that the attack was in retaliation it was done. In addition to being in detention for two years, Judge Huff imposed three years of supervision and a fine of US $ 567,084 for Kher. This is the amount by which the company will make up for this loss.

According to court documents, Kher was appointed by an information technology consulting firm from 2017 to May 2018. The company was dissatisfied with Kher’s work and was later fired by the consulting firm. It is said that Kher was angry with this and he did such an act to take revenge. In January 2018, the consulting firm removed Kher from the company’s headquarters. A few months later, in June 2018, Kher returned to Delhi India.

On 8 August 2018, two months after his return to India, Kher hacked the Carlsbad Company’s servers and deleted more than 1,200 of the 1,500 MS O365 users’ accounts. It is alleged that this attack affected the business of the company and completely shut down the company for two days.
